All the original sites of the musical "The Sound of Music"
including the picnic meadow in Werfen
This 8 hour Full Day Tour starts with a tour of the city of Salzburg including the Castles Leopoldskron (Von Trapp Family House) and Hellbrunn (Sound of Music Gazebo). From the castle Hellbrunn the journey continues straight to the Bavarian Mountains where the "Opening Scene - The Hills are alive" and the "Hiking Scene" was filmed. From the Bavarian Mountains the drive continues further South, to a mountain village called "Werfen". On the traces of "The Sound of Music Trail" it will lead us to the picnic meadow where Maria and the children started singing "Do-Re-Mi".
Now it will be around noon, so time for having lunch either at the Chef Head restaurant "Obauer" with many international awards or in some other typical austrian inn. The musical "The Sound of Music" was filmed in Salzburg, the Bavarian Mountains, in Werfen and in the "Salzkammergut" lake region, this is the last original film location of Sound of Music on our private sightseeing tour schedule.
From the mountain village Werfen we drive via Fuschl with lake to St. Gilgen with the Wolfgangsee (lake). Areal shots and the cock-railway scene of the musical "The Sound of Music" were filmed there. Finally
Relax and capture lovely photos on the drive from St. Gilgen to the last lake "Mondsee" further on to the town of Mondsee with the "Sound of Music Wedding Church". From Mondsee back to Salzburg.
